'Growing in full devotion' - St John's activities

Just as the people of St John's are interesting, diverse and energetic, so too is our church life. There are many groups, events and programs, all of which are part o our passion to grow more and moe into fully devoted children of God.

Undergirding it all is the most important meeting, outside the Sunday services - our monthly prayer meeting. The Psalmist says, "unless the Lord builds the house, those that build it labour in vain", and so each month, we gather as a church to call on the Lord to pour out his blessing on us.

• Growth Groups: St John's Growth Groups are mini-communities that meet weekly in members' homes, to walk alongside each other in the Christian life.
• 'Kid's church': Our 'Kid's Church' (Sunday school) ministry ensures that Sunday is the best day of the week for our kids!
• 'MOCHA': Our mothers' group, MOCHA (it stand for MOthers.CHildren.Ashfield), is a group for mothers, and other carers, and the pre-school children, which provides fun, play and activities for the kids, as well as time for mothers to think about parenting issues, discuss and share experiences, and develop friendship, all from a Christian perspective.

'Turning point' services: At key moments the spiritual reality of our lives is startlingly evident. At these times, it is important to gather with others and before God to seek his blessing. St John’s is committed to serving both the church and the community in providing sensitive and spiritually powerful ‘turning point’ services.
